As back as far as 1985, medical research was reporting that a two to three week regimen by an experienced chiropractor brought significant improvement in 81 percent of completely disabled patients with chronic low back and referred leg pain. These were subjects who failed to respond to other care methods. In their experience anything less than two weeks of daily manipulation is inadequate for chronic back pain patients.

A pilot study by the University of Chicago, showed patients who received the chiropractic adjustment saw an average of 14 point drop in systolic and 8 point drop in diastolic pressure. It was curious that the results were lasting. This was of course in people who had significant neck misalignment and high blood pressure. This shows there is a link between the nerves which exit the spine and the systems of the body.
