Venga uno venga todos!

That is the call Thursday at Elijah's Promise soup kitchen in New Brunswick, NJ. Come one, come all. This is the day that Garden State members Bob Berkowitz, Frank Hahn and Jay Yuhas go to serve chiropractic adjustments to people in need as part of Chiropractic for Humanity. Chiropractic for Humanity was founded by Garden State member Anita Morgenstern to serve the less fortunate in soup kitchens, AIDS clinics, drug rehab institutions and other institutions with chiropractic adjustments in NY and NJ.

It is one of the most utilized social services at Elijah's Promise by the staff and the clients. At last years Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, the chiropractors received a stand up ovation.

The service consists of educating the clients on the life message of chiropractic and performing chiropractic adjustments to correct subluxation only. There is a broadcast message in Spanish and English to invite everyone for our service. We also have banners and small handouts in Spanish and English to invite the clients.

Each chiropractor participates once a month and is on a rotating schedule. Chiropractors are always needed both here and in NY. Also, one table is available for a new location if someone is interested. The tables were graciously donated by Harvey Professional Supplies in Ronkonkoma, NY.

The current location has been in operation since April 2001. If you are interested in setting up a new location or serving in a current one, you may contact Dr. Jay Yuhas at (732) 321-0377.
